Moffat, a village in Scotland
we visited during a home exchange in 2002,
and its local pub.

Teacherstravelweb.com
has members worldwide, offering you opportunities to exchange
your home for short vacations abroad or wthin your own country. By mutual
agreement members can stay longer or include transport, communication and
recreational equipment as part of the exchange!
What an opportunity! To have a home base, perhaps a car and computer
access, in another country or a different part of your own, for no cost! We exchanged
our home in New Zealand in the winter of 2001/2002 with one on the
outskirts of London, for 6 weeks! We saved thousands and thousands
of dollars as we swapped cars, computers and the house, and even borrowed
a winter coat each! But it was more than that.
We became part of a real community, the local shops, the local transport
system, the local supermarket, with a neighbour to help us with any cultural
differences.
Of course we spent
a week before, cleaning our own home, arranging for a friend to be
on hand for the visitors, and warning the locals not to call the police when
they saw someone different driving our car.
With the right checks, insurances and trust in Educational colleagues,
this is a unique way to holiday. You are in an ordinary teacher's family
home, so don't expect room service or all the latest gadgets, it will probably
be just like your place! We do offer advice on planning a home exchange
and making sure that you have thought of everything.

Home Exchange and home swap
~ the facts
Your
free accommodation could also include a free car, and free computer...it's
up to you! This is your invitation to have a home in your dream
destination for as long as you and your exchangee decide! Once you are a member
of teacherstravelweb.com you will have access to all the members listings,
which include a description of their home and facilities, what there is
to do in their area, the transport options, and their email address.
You can approach them directly by email to request an exchange. If you
get a positive response you will soon be starting to make the arrangements
for your next vacation. If you get a negative response, try another member
and ask again. Members are not obliged to say 'Yes" to accommodate your travel
plans and so ask well ahead of time, and be flexible in your requirements,
or destinations, this way you will get the best out of the program. When
you fill in your membership form, remember to describe your home and area
well, as this too, will attract members who will want to visit your home
town and area.
